36 bike climbs up Ještěd. One incredible challenge, one meaningful goal – to raise funds for Dům pro Julii and families of seriously ill children.
Double Everesting is more than a sporting challenge. It is a way to support families who face extraordinary challenges every single day.
Architect Jakub Adamec has set himself one of cycling's toughest endurance challenges: a Double Everesting on Ještěd Mountain. In one continuous ride, he will climb the equivalent of twice the height of Mount Everest—around 36 ascents to the summit of Ještěd.

That is why we ride for Dům pro Julii.This project is rooted in a deeply personal story. It was inspired by the family of architect Pavel Barták, whose daughter Anička lives with a rare genetic condition and has long relied on the care provided by Dům pro Julii. Jakub decided to turn his sporting ambition into meaningful support—not only for this family, but for many others facing similar circumstances.
Based in Brno, Dům pro Julii provides specialised paediatric palliative care and respite care for children with life-limiting illnesses. Its services enable children to spend as much time as possible with their loved ones while giving families the expert support, relief, and reassurance they need during the most difficult times.
Together with the Domestici Association, this initiative has become Architecture of Help—a project in which one architect supports another, and together they support an organisation that brings care, compassion, respite, and hope to families every day.

Domestici.cz connects sport, solidarity, and support for palliative care in the Czech Republic. We bring together active people who care about how our loved ones live — and how they leave this world. Together, we help ensure that the end of life can be calm, dignified, and spent close to those who matter most.
Why is palliative care important?
Palliative care helps people with incurable illnesses live quality lives until the very end — without unnecessary pain, in safety, and with support provided not only to them, but also to their loved ones.
- In the Czech Republic, approximately 70,000 people need palliative care today.
- Yet 40% of people don’t even know what palliative care means.
We believe that no one should be left alone, in pain, or in fear at the end of life.
What do we do as Domestici.cz?
We are building a community of people who speak openly and respectfully about palliative care — and who actively support it.
- We organize awareness-raising events.
- We connect people through challenges and personal stories.
- We provide financial support to hospices and organizations that develop palliative care across the Czech Republic.
The project was born out of the founder Martin Souček’s passion for ultra-cycling. In 2024, he linked his participation in the Race Across America with support for palliative care. And around this idea, a community of “Domestiques” gradually grew — a community of people who help others.
